Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers

Dermal Fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, which gives structure, definition, and volume when injected in the face. As we age, our skin becomes more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles, caused by repetitive muscle movement and environmental aggressors such as UV damage and pollution. Dermal fillers can be used to correct such damage.

Dermal Fillers can also be used to naturally enhance or subtly refresh your look, based on your aesthetic treatment goals. Perhaps due to aging, your once pillowy lips have deflated and you’d like to restore lip structure and volume? Or maybe you feel like you look too tired and want to brighten your under eye dark circles and hollowness? Filler treatments can help with both!

Fillers can also be used to volumize creases and folds such as Nasolabial folds (aka “smile lines”, “laugh lines”, “marionette lines”) and can smooth and rejuvenate the area around your nose and mouth. Filler can also add structure to the chin and jawline for a more defined look, or even in the cheeks for a more lifted, youthful appearance. Whatever your goals, Uniquely You is proud to be one of the leading providers of Dermal FIller treatments in Edmonton.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

What is Filler?

Dermal Fillers are made from hyaluronic acid and help to add structure, definition, and volume when injected in the face. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the skin, and is responsible for keeping your skin hydrated. However, as we age, we start to lose hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin, causing the skin to become more susceptible to fine lines and wrinkles. Environmental aggressors such as the sun and pollution also degrade skin quality.

Dermal fillers can be used to rejuvenate our skin, making us look refreshed and more youthful. Dermal Fillers can give you poutier lips, higher structured cheekbones, fill the hollowness under your eyes, give you defined jawline and chin, and much more. Contact us today to find out how dermal fillers can help you achieve your ideal aesthetic.

Are there any side effects with Dermal Fillers?

When administered by a highly trained medical professional with many years of injecting experience, Dermal Filler treatments are relatively safe and pain-free. That said, some patients may experience redness, which shouldn’t last long. Bruising and swelling may also occur but are temporary and will resolve within a few days to a week after treatment. The risk of potential side effects after Dermal Filler treatment will be discussed thoroughly by your Injector during your complimentary consultation.

3

How much does Filler cost?

The price of a filler treatment is different for everyone. Different factors such as your unique facial anatomy, desired outcome, etc. will determine how many syringes of filler are needed to treat a certain area of the face. At Uniquely You, the cost of fillers range from $350-600 per syringe. We encourage you to book in a complimentary consultation, where our injectors will be able to assess your treatment area and facial anatomy, discuss your goals and create a treatment plan to help you achieve your desired result.

How soon will I see results after my Dermal Filler treatment?

Patients love Dermal Filler treatments because of the very visible, immediate, and natural results this anti-aging treatment offers. After your Dermal Filler treatment, the healing process begins which involves swelling and bruising for 3-7 days, depending on the area injected and how your body reacts to the treatment. You will enjoy your final results about 2-4 weeks after your treatment, once the filler settles and your healing is complete. Please plan four weeks in advance prior to any events or vacations in case of residual swelling or bruising.

7

Is there any downtime after Dermal Filler treatment?

Some swelling or bruising is possible after your Dermal FIller treatment, as a small needle is being used to inject the product safely into the targeted treatment area. At Uniquely You, we recommend planning at least two weeks in advance, prior to any upcoming special events or vacations. This ensures you see the best results and have enough time to heal from any potential bruising that may occur.
